libxcrypt1 software package provides Crypt library for DES, MD5, and blowfish, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxcrypt1
libxcrypt1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxcrypt1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxcrypt1 *
You will get with libxcrypt1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
